In Hollywood we stayed a couple of block for Grummen’s Chinese Theatre where stars imprint thier names and prints in concrete.


We saw the new Harry Potter movie here. What a comfortable theatre. Great seats. Lots of leg room. A couple of times the sidewalk was shut down because of movie primieres or celebrations for stars.

We stayed in the room where Janis Jopln OD’ed. Tour busses would stop on the street and point to our room.

The number on the door was written in marker because people kept stealing the plate “105″ as souveniers.

The beaches were amazing. Wide stretches of clean sand that went on for miles.

Liam took surfing lessons.

Micah was throwen in a jail in the jungle.

Bev and I had trouble with the law as well!

We had a great family vacation.

I have set up my RSS feed but I think I will have to do some editing. I signed up for too many popular feeds. I didn’t like the weather link that is built into Bloglines. I’m working on a cloudy windy morning and the forcast was reporting more sun than cloud! Is it possible to link to CBC weather?

What I don’t understand is how will I know when a new post is added. Will it be visible on the list of feeds?

I used social bookmarking last year as an easy way to get students to web pages. Before I would have to add a new link to my web page and that is never simple. Now I have a link to my social bookmarks that stays on my web page and with one click on the social web page I can add a new site for students! It is much easier.

Friends. The introduction podcast was not what I was looking for. All it told me was what Donna has already told us and showed us: Blogging can be a useful teaching tool. I am excited about this project. Several years ago I tried to do this with my earliest class web page but didn’t have the idea and technology that blogging provides. Nor did I have Donna to help guide me.

I have always done a lot of writing with my classes. It will now be possible for the students to read each other’s writing and to respond. Exciting new addition to my teaching.
